Lupi Olive Oil

Lupi Olive Oil is blended and bottled in Italy at a purpose-built facility, holding internationally recognised food production certification. All facilities meet International Food Standard (IFS) and British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards and every Lupi Extra Virgin Olive Oil product is produced in accordance with International Olive Council specifications.

Production includes a variety of tests to determine the purity and quality of the Olive Oil – all Lupi products must meet a minimum standard across these measures:

Damage to the fruit before the olives are pressed can cause natural enzymes to be released, breaking down the olive oil, releasing free fatty acids affecting flavour and reducing shelf life.

Deterioration of olive oil causes the release of natural peroxide, which ultimately leads to rancidity. Rancid oils develop unpleasant flavours which can be harmful to health.

Taste testing of the oil under controlled conditions by a panel of trained experts is used to identify defects in flavour and aroma.
